Mandalay Villas breaks ground

Construction is now underway on the Mandalay Villas, a
project the developers say will bring "high-end quality
and modern design style" to Samui for an affordable price.
The developers behind the project, Mandalay Samui, built
up an impressive portfolio of developments in its managing
directorīs home country, Hungary, before entering the Thai
market.
"We had many property developments in Budapest, where we
built more than 10,000sqm," said Tibor Szedlak, the firmīs
owner. "Two years ago, I spent three days on Samui
visiting friends and after a quick look around on the
local property market, I asked the Horizon Homes Real
Estate Agency to show me some available land. The land
[which is the site of the Mandalay Villas project] was the
first they showed me, and I felt in love immediately. I
came back one month later, to start The Mandalay Villas
project."
Each 370spm unit in the development comes with
three-bedrooms, an infinity pool, sauna, sala and outdoor
jacuzzi on the master bedroomīs terrace. The scheduled
completion date is October 2008, and villas are on sale
for Bt25m.
The location, on the hillside of Plai Laem, Choeng Mon
offers sunset and ocean views and is just 10 minutes from
Samui International Airport. Choeng Mon beach is five
minutes from the project site and two minutes to Thong Son
beach. A number of gourmet dining and shopping options are
available in a the nearby Fisherman Village. A number of
five-star hotels, such as Sila Evasion, Sala and Thong Son
Bay, have also chosen to open in the area.
Szedlak believes the Sea BC-designed development has a
range of key selling points with "perfect location and
high end quality finishing" chief among them. Structured
ownership is also an option for buyers.
The firm is also currently working on Mandalay Residence;
a 1,000sqm high end villa project next to Himmapan and The
Mandalay Condominium; a 48-unit development also on Samui.
